PORTFOLIODAG <2010

Bringing young talented artists from all over the world together to start up a dialogue with renowned professionals from the international art scene gradually became a tradition for Warp Art Platform.

This initiative arose out of necessity. It is striking how young artists often feel the need for professional feedback about their artistic practice. This is how our portfolio days were developed. Here all participants were coming from Belgium and the talks were in Dutch. Because of the success of these portfolio days, we expanded the concept to what currently is the Artist Village. At this Artist Village about 25 selected international artist are getting intensive feedback on their artistic work during one week. This happens through personal encounters with curators, art critics, artist, museum directors or collectors, coming from New York to Beijing and Toronto to Cape Town. All this happens in English. Every artist, up to 35, can apply.

Because of the content-related talks, critical reflection and focused encounters, the artist builds up his or her personal career. Equally important are the informal meeting possibilities and the mutual dialogues between the participating artists. All the evening activities with dinner, lectures and concerts are open to the public.
